When choosing a TEFL course it is important to make sure that the course you are considering is moderated by an external party to ensure that you will receive the highest standard of training and facilities.

 

In Barcelona we are moderated each month according to the requirements of TEFL International and are visited once a year by an external moderator. 

 

As a member of the TEFL International family (a network with more than 30 schools in more than 22 countries) we are accredited by Lamar University (Texas, USA) and the Tri-continent Degree program at Siam Technology College (Bangkok, Thailand).

Lamar University recognizes the TEFL International certificate course as a three-credit undergraduate university course. An official transcript is available to each student. Lamar University is part of the Texas State university system and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award degrees as the Associate, Baccalaureate, Master's and Doctoral levels.

Local Board: TEFL International Barcelona is regularly visited by local ESL professionals and school managers to conduct an external moderation and ensure that the highest standards in training, facilities and service are being met.

 

This team is led by Dave Hopkins, a teacher, and teacher educator who has been working with English language teaching for four decades. He holds a Masters degree in Intercultural Training and management, and a Masters in the Teaching of Languages. He has worked extensively in Teacher Training, materials development, course design and media in the classroom in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and the US. He served as a Senior English Language Fellow attached to the US State Dept. in Islamabad, Pakistan. He is currently an English Language Specialist for the US State Dept., and  provides teacher training workshops and consults with the University of Southeast Asia on the development of their English language programs.
